This paper highlights the barriers, biases, and facilitators to women's participation in administrative positions in Taiwan and Honduras' higher education institutions. On the other hand, there is insufficient data or research about the issue in Honduras. Therefore, the current study could contribute to increasing female administrators’ part

icipation. In the present qualitative study, seven female Honduran administrators and seven Taiwanese female administrators were invited to participate in semi-structured interviews. The results revealed that women in Honduras are underrepresented in the executive roles in public universities. Furth

ermore, women's challenges and biases were the household chores, gender stereotypes, gender organization, and political aspects influencing these positions. However, women in Taiwan had better representation, and political issues did not influence professors getting management positions. But, all th

e participants agreed that family support, teamwork, and time management were facilitators to overcoming the obstacles. Lastly, implementing a gender committee and professors' child care programs in Honduran public universities could support female professors to apply or get administrative positions
